Earlham College Case Study
Above, we talk with Julia and Gayle from Earlham College. As the needs for printing remains strong in this challenging economy, we take a moment to find out what makes their relationship with Oregon Printing one they value.
Situation:
Earlham College, based in Richmond, Indiana, is among the nation’s strongest liberal arts colleges. To promote its programs and departments, the College produces over 30 brochures each year.
Over the past 10 years, the College’s marketing evolved from simple, single-color pieces to engaging four-color brochures. As the marketing materials became more sophisticated, Earlham needed a print partner who could deliver:
- consistency across dozens of brochures and materials;
- quality that could stand up to Earlham’s reputation;
- and attentive and responsive customer service…
- all at a price that the independent College could afford.
Challenge:
Earlham struggled to find a local printer who could meet their expectations of quality, turnaround time and customer service. Earlham needed to streamline their process as they would have to provide packets of files to the printers and this process would not meet their need with time-sensitive material.
Solution:
Earlham found the trifecta of quality, turnaround and service at Oregon Printing – nearly 60 miles away, in Dayton, Ohio. Despite the distance, Oregon is able to deliver the quality and quick work that Earlham requires. And, even with shipping and courier costs included, Oregon is able to beat the local printers’ prices.
How is that possible?
- Oregon offers electronic order submission for both large and small jobs – so Earlham can easily upload files and project details.
- Oregon makes it a priority to know their clients’ jobs… Someone at Oregon intimately understands Earlham’s work, and is able to identify potential problems.
- And, Oregon’s workflow includes six checkpoints where problems can be identified and addressed.
- Modern, quality equipment also helps Oregon reduce costs – and maintain tight timelines.
