The Orchard Group Case Study

Situation:

Last April, we worked with The Orchard Group and Scott Hull Associates on a mailing piece that was targeted to raise money for 9/11 victims and businesses around Ground Zero. The results were larger than expected and in October, The Orchard Group wanted to do another complimentary mailing.

Challenge:

The previous mailing had a 2/color look and demanded some different mailing. We had to find the means to put it in a plastic bag, add variable data to label and attach the label to the outside of the bag and mailed while dealing with postal regulations. The Orchard Group needed a different look for this next direct mail. Scott wanted to add 4/color to make the stories pop, and a New York “grunge” look.

Solution:

In the printing process, adding 4/color and keeping the metallic silver and custom red was expensive. We were able to make it 5/color building the red out of 4/color and got it into an acceptable price range. Since the finished size was different and plastic bags was not available in that size we worked with the mailing service to shrink wrap it, put the label with variable data on the outside and get mailed within postal regulations.

Once again, the Orchard Group audience– and us – were WOWed with the results and causing a buzz.
